Azusa, Calif. — Wynn's®, a division of Illinois Tool Works, Inc., hosts Don Garlits' new Mopar® Wynn's Charger dragster at the 2008 Automotive Oil Change Association (AOCA) 2008 Annual Convention & Fast Lube Expo, Mandalay Bay Resort, Las Vegas, March 10-13, 2008 in the Wynn's booth, #317.

Garlits' supercharged Mopar 392 HEMI® Crate Engine features a vintage 6-71 blower powering his historic Swamp Rat XII dragster. Mopar provided the 392 HEMI Crate Engine and, with Wynn's sponsorship, Garlits restored the chassis and hand-built the special parts to adapt an engine that had never, until now, seen a load of nitro. It will run on an 80% mix.

The new Mopar Wynn's Charger also marks the renewal of Wynn's sponsorship of "Big Daddy" Don Garlits. The relationship began in 1960 when a Wynn's decal first appeared on Swamp Rat III. "Wynn's was the first company to sponsor me," said Big Daddy. "Before that, the only help I got was free parts." The name "Wynn's Jammer" appeared on Swamp Rat VII a few years later. The current name, "Wynn's Charger," was on Swamp Rat X and was last seen on Swamp Rat XXIII in 1977.

"We're thrilled to be supporting Don Garlits on this project," said Gerry Miles, general manager of Wynn's. "This revives a proud relationship with Big Daddy that dates back to the 1960s, and to be part of such a groundbreaking project is truly exciting."
